1st Generation

LATE SHRI LAKSHMI NARAIN AGARWAL

FOUNDER

Back in 1918, Late Shri Lakshmi Narain Agarwal who was a keen entrepreneur founded ‘LAKHSMI NARAIN AGARWAL (LNABOOKS)’ a stationary and bookseller business. During British Rule, he grabbed the opportunity of dealing with the foreign books of many famous writers and started selling those in India.

In his later years, after gaining enough experience in the books market all over India, he decided to venture into the educational books publishing industry and established this in his own name. Since then it has been known as LAKSHMI NARAIN AGARWAL EDUCATIONAL PUBLISHERS AND BOOKSELLERS under which banner, he started publishing books for competitive examinations like the IAS/PCS State Civil Service Examinations. He was always keen on building self-confidence and grit among the students in the academic and the career-oriented competitive worlds to face the challenges that they may have to face.

2nd Generation

LATE SHRI PRAKASH NARAIN AGARWAL

Late Shri Prakash Narain Agarwal was the youngest son of Late Shri Lakshmi Narain Agarwal. After his graduation, he undertook this parental business of educational book publishing in 1956. Since then the firm has grown in its revenues with a significant turnover and expanded its publishing by laying footprints in College books (for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and MBA and Competitive Examinations).

Shri Prakash Narain Agarwal published books for many Board Examinations of India and especially for the Uttar Pradesh and the Rajasthan Boards. He became an active member of ‘The Federation of Educational Publishers in India’ (FEPI) where he was deeply involved in safeguarding the interests of the publishers, fighting against piracy in the market and protecting the authors against copyright infringement. In the early stages of the post Independence Era, he also made his mark globally by commencing the export of LNABOOKS publications in several neighbouring countries of India like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, etc. under the brand name called NARAIN’S.

PRAVEEN NARAIN AGARWAL

Praveen Narain Agarwal has been in the publishing industry for nearly 40 years with LNABOOKS. He undertook this parental business from his father Late Shri Prakash Narain Agarwal and joined LNABOOKS in 1982.

He achieved a milestone in multiplying the number of publications of the business by four times. Currently the business has 750 + titles published. Due to his tough grinding efforts, he made the business grow in various fields like English Language & Literature, Political Science, History, Economics and Sociology.

His own interest in the field of education and his prolific reading made him research thoroughly the essentials of the Graduation and Post Graduation Courses and the syllabi of the Universities of India and came so far in helping the business to reach great heights.

LALIT NARAIN AGARWAL

PARTNER

Lalit Narain Agarwal’s determination and courage took this publication house to new heights. He is credited with expanding his family business to its present stature.

Prior to joining LNABOOKS, he completed his B.com from St. John’s College, Agra in 1986 and M.A. (Economics) from St. John’s College, Agra in 1988. After completing his studies, he started his career by entering his family business with a view to steering LNABOOKS to greater heights. His understanding of students’ requirements in various disciplines, helped the business in diversifying into new fields such as Management, Psychology, Education, Geography, Philosophy and Home Science. Thereafter, having gained a rich experience of more than 35 years in the field of publication, he has been an integral part of LNABOOKS.

As a firm follower of Mahatma Gandhi, he believes in the dictum : “Education is the basic tool for the development of consciousness and the reconstitution of society”.

4th Generation

SAMARTH NARAIN AGARWAL

PARTNER

After completing B.com (Hons.) from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (Delhi University) and a Master’s Degree from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS University), Mumbai, he joined LNABOOKS in 2015.

His vision is to take this business forward in the publishing domain (both print and digital). His commitment is to strive for uplifting the noble cause of education and to provide books of excellence in various disciplines to the students.

He believes in a quote by G. K. Chesterton : “Education is simply the Soul of a Society as it passes from one generation to another”.

Prior to joining LNABOOKS, Prateek Narain Agarwal completed his BBA (Bachelors of Business Administration) from Amity University, Noida on 50% scholarship in 2017. He has a Master’s Degree in Business Management from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS University), Mumbai. He also holds a degree in Business Marketing Management from the University of London’s Birkbeck College under the Student Abroad Programme of Amity University in London.

He joined LNABOOKS in 2017 as a partner and undertook the responsibility of the marketing department.

He has been the integral part of LNABOOKS in generating leads and increasing brand awareness and engagement among the students.
